ICAR-IARI Recruitment 2026: Apply Online for Research Associate and Young Professional Posts

The Division of Environmental Sciences at ICAR-Indian Agricultural Research Institute (ICAR-IARI), New Delhi, has invited applications for contractual positions under two Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change (MOEFCC), Government of India funded projects related to greenhouse gas emissions from rice cultivation and agricultural soils.

Project Details

The recruitment is being conducted under the following ongoing MOEFCC-funded projects:

  1. Developing scaling factors of methane and nitrous oxide emissions from rice cultivation under different management practices (MOEFCC-I)
  2. GHG emission inventory from agricultural soils and rice cultivation for Preparation of India’s Second and Third Biennial Transparency Report (MOEFCC-II)

Vacancy Details

1. Research Associate (MOEFCC-I)

  • Number of Posts: 1
  • Salary: ₹61,000 per month + HRA

Essential Qualifications

  • PhD in Environmental Sciences or Plant Physiology from a recognized university/institution
  • Minimum five years of research experience in greenhouse gas emission measurement from rice fields and emission factor development

Desirable Qualifications

  • Experience in chromatographic GHG analysis
  • Knowledge of volatilization losses
  • Experience in crop modelling and data analysis software

2. Young Professional-II

  • Number of Posts: 1
  • Salary: ₹42,000 per month (Consolidated)

Essential Qualifications

  • Master’s degree with First Class in Environmental Sciences from a recognized university/institution
  • Minimum two years of experience in GHG measurement and gas chromatographic analysis

Desirable Qualifications

  • Proficiency in data analysis software
  • Experience in soil and plant analysis

3. Young Professional-I

  • Number of Posts: 1
  • Salary: ₹30,000 per month (Consolidated)

Essential Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree from a recognized university/institution
  • At least one year of experience in GHG sampling and chromatographic analysis

Desirable Qualifications

  • Experience in handling gas chromatograph and canopy analyser

Age Limit

  • Research Associate: Maximum 40 years
    • Relaxation of 5 years for SC/ST and women candidates
    • Relaxation of 3 years for OBC candidates
  • Young Professional Posts: Maximum 45 years

Age will be calculated as on 30 May 2026.

Selection Process

  • Eligible candidates will be shortlisted based on qualifications and experience.
  • Shortlisted candidates will receive interview details via email.
  • The interview will be conducted online.

Important Instructions

  • The posts are purely temporary and contractual in nature up to 31 March 2027.
  • Extension may be granted based on project continuation and performance.
