The Department of Materials Science and Metallurgical Engineering, Indian Institute of Technology Hyderabad (IIT Hyderabad) invites applications from highly motivated and talented candidates for the position of Junior Research Fellow (JRF) or Senior Research Fellow (SRF) under a prestigious Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO), Government of India sponsored research project through DIA-COE, IIT (BHU) Varanasi.

Indigenous Development of Large Scale (100 kg) Inert Gas Atomiser

The project focuses on the indigenous development of advanced atomization technology for strategic defence applications and offers an excellent opportunity to work on state-of-the-art materials processing and characterization.

Fellowship
Junior Research Fellow (JRF)
- ₹37,000 per month (1st & 2nd Year)
- ₹42,000 per month (3rd Year)
Senior Research Fellow (SRF)
- ₹42,000 per month

Essential Qualifications
Junior Research Fellow (JRF)
Bachelor’s degree (BE/BTech) in any one of the following disciplines:
- Metallurgical Engineering
- Materials Science and Engineering
- Mechanical Engineering
- Chemical Engineering
Minimum CGPA: 8.0/10
Senior Research Fellow (SRF)
Master’s degree (ME/MTech/MS) in:
- Metallurgical Engineering
- Materials Science and Engineering
- Mechanical Engineering
- Chemical Engineering
Minimum CGPA of 8.0/10 at both UG and PG levels.
Desirable Qualifications
Candidates with one or more of the following will be preferred:
- Valid GATE qualification
- Research experience in:
- Powder Metallurgy
- Additive Manufacturing
- Microstructural Characterization
- Mechanical Behaviour of Materials
- Superalloys
- Advanced Materials
- Modelling and Simulation
Age Limit
- Maximum age: 28 years
- Age relaxation is applicable for reserved category candidates as per Government of India norms.
