Internship Overview
NIT Warangal is inviting applications for a research internship under a SERB (Science and Engineering Research Board), Government of India funded project.
Project Title
Study on Formability Behaviour and Microstructure Evolution of Al/Cu Laminated Composites During Electric Assisted Forming for Lightweight Material Applications
Objective of the Internship
The internship focuses on advanced materials research, especially:
- Aluminium–Copper (Al/Cu) laminated composites
- Behaviour of materials during deformation
- Microstructure evolution under electric-assisted forming
- Applications in lightweight materials for engineering industries
This is a hands-on research-based internship aimed at strengthening experimental and analytical skills in mechanical/materials engineering.

Eligibility Criteria
✔️ Essential Qualification
Candidates must be:
- B.E / B.Tech in:
- Mechanical Engineering
- Production Engineering
- Metallurgy
- Must have First Class academic record
- Should be currently in:
- 2nd year or 3rd year of B.E/B.Tech
Desired Skills
- Basic understanding of mechanical behaviour of materials
- Interest in:
- Materials science
- Metallurgy
- Manufacturing processes
- Analytical and research-oriented mindset (preferred but not mandatory)
Fellowship / Stipend
- ₹5,000 per month
Nature of Work
Selected interns will:
- Assist in executing research project objectives
- Participate in experiments related to material forming
- Help in data collection and analysis
- Gain exposure to advanced lab techniques and research methodology
